[Part 1 - Introduction] My 1-month graduation trip to South Korea with Char!

Hi everyone!

Yes, i know. It's been nearly 3 months since i'm back from my 1-month S.Korea trip with my Lasalle classmate, Charmaine. I've decided to talk about it only now because i've been all around ever since i came back and some things happened which left me really sad & disappointed. (No, it's nothing to do with any boyfriend. I don't even have one.) Anyways, now that it's all over, i can concentrate on sharing with you guys what i did for this 1-month trip! I will talk about it part by part because i can't possible type all at once. After all, it was a month worth of travelling. So this will be Part 1! where i will talk about how it all started and how it was planned!

Basically, it wasn't really an impromptu trip but somehow it just felt like it to me because i was in Korea last October for 9 days with my family. That was my 2nd time in Korea. My 1st time was with a bunch of friends in 2010? or was it 2011? I can't remember. But all i remembered was, it was during fall as well! and we went there for 12 days. Anyways, after i came back, i was determined to go back there again to further explore the country since i love Korea. I managed to find a friend! who was willing to accompany me and yes, that's Charmaine! We only knew each other better in Year 2 into university. Ever since, we were project partners, worked part-time in the same company, inseparable. But yea, i mean, we do get annoyed by each other sometimes. Our last trip was to Penang, Malaysia, where we attended the Georgetown Festival in 2014. I guess that's how we became closer and became travel buddies.

Moving backwards, we booked our air tickets in November because of SIA's air ticket promotion, 2-to-go at about SGD$700+ ($746.10 to be exact). It was initially SGD$650+ but because of the timings we picked, we had to pay extra. Our departure was set on 2 March 2016 and our arrival was set on 2 April 2016, literally, a month. By the way, i was jobless ever since my Oct/Nov 15 trip to Korea. Thus, i had to find a job for the upcoming trip and i ended up in a retail job which was willing to put me on contract for 2-months.

We started planning our route and decided to start off from Jeju Island. Since we were going to experience the end of winter, we mind as well start off somewhere warmer. So this was our route for our trip after much long and multiple discussions.

Singapore > Incheon  > Jeju > Busan > Ulsan > Gyeongju > Suwon > Seoul

We initially wanted to stop by Daegu but due to our accommodation in Seoul, we couldn't do so because of their special promotion! (which will be further explained in part 6) By then, we had already booked our air ticket (Jejuair) from Gimpo Airport to Jeju (19,000KRW), Jeju to Busan (23,900KRW), our accommodations in the various cities were also booked! So basically, everything was well planned, the accommodation, dates, itinerary, budget etc. Our accommodations were not all from Airbhb. I know it have become really popular these years but we also looked on Agoda because sometimes, you'll find that Agoda offers the same price with better accessibility and amenities.

So there you have it, Part 1! More parts to come...

In part 2, i will talk about the first day! and Jeju!
